FINANCIAL ASSISTANT II, Comparative Media Studies-Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab, to provide financial and administrative assistance to the lab. Will support the executive director and work with the systems administrator in performing complex and diverse financial and administrative duties. Responsibilities will include monitoring and reconciling Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab accounts; preparing projections of expenditures for lab accounts; creating, processing, and approving purchase requisitions, invoices, requests for payment, travel reimbursements, and journal vouchers; and verifying lab credit card charges. Will also coordinate travel for faculty, staff and students; advise, plan, and coordinate workspace improvements; reserve campus rooms for internal use; reserve dormitory lodging for summer programs; liaise with other departments, offices, and research programs; receive and direct inquiries and correspondence from external parties; coordinate with and arrange lodging and transport for external visitors; and perform other activities as requested.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least three years of financial/accounting and administrative experience
• Strong analytical skills; ability to set priorities, handle detailed work with accuracy, and function effectively despite many interruptions
• Experience with Excel
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to interact with a diverse group of people important, including teenage foreign students. Must be flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Should demonstrate good judgment and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. MIT experience strongly preferred. Experience with SAP also preferred.
